In the brightness of the day, it is easy to forget the power of a candle’s flame.
In the night we are reminded of how the candle is a small and mighty flicker of resilience.
Through its bright light and the glow it casts, it laughs at the natural order of night and day and says, “NO. Despite the time, despite my context, despite what my circumstances might say, I am going to shine anyway. For that is what I was made to do.”
May we, like this candle, shine anyway. Amen.
